Matt Bonner Snubbed in the 2011 NBA All-Star 3-Point Shooting Contest
The participants for the 2011 NBA 3-point shootout are set, the contestants include defending champion Paul Pierce, teammate and future 3-pointers made record holder Ray Allen, NBA scoring leader Kevin Durant, current Miami Heat member, University of Miami alumni and hometown Miami kid James Jones, a member of NBA all time record losing streak Cleveland Cavaliers (and Keyshia Cole’s boyfriend) Daniel Gibson, and a guy named Dorell Wright.
When you look at this list you might be thinking the same thing I am; Where is Matt Bonner? Despite leading the NBA in 3-point percentage at 50.4% Matt Boner was not included in this year’s 3-point contest. First we see Tony Parker get shafted for not being selected to the All-Star game and now Matt Bonner? Despite the Spurs having the best record in the league, “Red Rocket” won’t be able to display that sick set shot during All-Star weekend. I really believe the NBA ain’t giving much love to the Spurs, I don’t ever recall a team coming into the All-Star break with the best record in the league ,with just 8 losses coming into today, with just 2 representatives at the All-Star game, that being Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobli. What a travesty for the Spurs and a bigger one for our 3 point bomber from New Hampshire, Matt Bonner. Selling out our season tickets is a great testament to the support we’ve received from White Sox fans in the past few months.
