Stephon Marbury Getting a Bronze Statue in China
After leading the Beijing Ducks to their first championship in the Chinese Basketball Association, Ma Bu Li aka Stephon Marbury in Chinese, will be getting a bronze statue of himself.
The statue is a replication of moments after winning the championship in which Marbury held up the championship trophy. The statue was pushed into production behind the support of over a million Chinese fans in an online petition. Since the CBA doesn’t allow foreign players to win MVP awards the fans thought Marbury should be recognized in some other form. That being a bronze statue which I must say looks nothing like Marbury, here’s a picture of the statue in progress:
